BF6 Players Concur: Challenges Are Overly Demanding
The debut of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are protesting against several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Players have started resorting to custom matches made via Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how arduous these missions have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four types of assignments, but although many only reward cosmetics and some tools, completing the weapon assignments is the sole method of obtaining twelve from the forty-one primary weapons found within the game.
A number of these locked weapons could shortly make their appearance on rankings for the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry via Reddit
On Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many benefits in combat as it used to in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you want to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that mission would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Extremely Difficult Challenge
A different forum member brought attention to an additional excessively hard challenge, within the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with marksman guns
This is challenging enough by itself, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine maps in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and maybe a classic map at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. The Battlefield Portal is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, including AI opponents. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.
However, when doing the challenges in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for grinding them out in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are toned down in the near future, because if they're not, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.
At the moment, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, anticipating a more balanced gaming experience in future updates.
